Community
Rules
For the
benefit of the entire karting community, and to comply with applicable laws, we
have a few guidelines that we call "Community Rules." We hope you
will find them reasonable. Please understand though, that any conduct that
violates the Community Rules is grounds for termination of your use of the HCKC
Forum. For this reason, we ask that you carefully read and follow them.
Thank You HCKC Webmaster
Suggested
guidelines for postings
Your messages should be related to karting. After all, this is a
karting website and forum. Please be brief and to the point. If you can't say
it in a paragraph or two it probably won't work well on the Forum.
Please make sure that the subject line matches the content of the
message. Sometimes the subject will change as discussion continues. Take a
moment to make sure that your "Subject:" line is relevant to the
content of your message.
Anonymous postings ("club member; interested karter") should
be avoided. People usually identify with real names, even if they are
strangers.
Be careful with postings such as "my kart is better than
yours"... or "X-type racers are better than Y-type racers"
Humorous banter has its place and a limited amount of it is good for any
organization. But it can get out of hand, particularly if people don't know
each other well. Let's keep the forum focused on the free exchange of ideas,
and discussion of karting-related topics, not arguments or "one-upsmansill
p." In all cases, please keep messages civil and polite.
If you are a Karting-related
business, the following applies
If someone posts a message to the Forum asking for a source for a
particular item, please be sure your response informs the questioner and others
in a fair manner. For instance, if someone asks where to obtain a certain tool,
you might indicate that the tool is generally available from full service
karting shops and suppliers such as..... If you want to contact that
individual... do it privately, and do not reply to the For-um.
Direct statements of the nature: "This is xxxx kart shop, and we can sell
you yyyy part for $zzz" will be considered inappropriate.
Please do not
post messages such as: "We are the biggest and best kart shop in xxxx
area, call us for the best prices!" This Forum is not here for advertising
purposes.
Please do not include company logos or other Sig tiles in your response. An acceptable sig file might consist of Company name, city/state, private email contact address, and possibly a phone number and the URL to your own site. Using a 10 or 20 line sig file, aggressively advertising a business (or yourself) is considered unacceptable on this List.
ALL: Please
remember-- the Forum is for the exchange of ideas, thoughts, opinions and news
that pertain specifically and directly to kar-ting. No direct sales;
or solicitation of any type is allowed through this
Forum, the email addresses of its
contributors, or the
membership roster of the Hill County- Kart Club: Let me repeat that: No `direct sales; or solicitation of any type is allowed through this Forum, the email addresses of its subscribers, or the membership roster of the HCKC.
Unacceptable actions and content on the FORUM: Any of the below actions or
content will constitute grounds for blocking access, removal of posted
material, and consideration of HCKC membership sanctions.
Foul language, flaming,
derogatory statements, or any type of posting deemed to be an attack on an
individual or company (whether an HCKC member or otherwise) will be grounds for
immediate removal from the Forum. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
